Are your sweets gluten free?

Most of the milk based sweets are gluten free, so are the laddus (chickpea flour based) and cashew nut burfi (kaju katli, which is only made with cashewnut and sugar).

Do you have vegan options?

Yes. We currently have 5 vegan sweets, and most of the food is vegan. In addition, we offer almond milk instead of dairy for all hot and cold drinks, coffee, tea, milkshakes, smoothies, iced coffee etc.

What is the shelf life of our sweets?

Shelf life depends on the type of sweet. We encourage people to consume sweets as soon as you receive them. The nut burfis can last up to a maximum of 10 days, laddus can last up to 10 days (max) and milk sweets 7 days (max) in the refrigerator.

Do any of your sweets contain eggs?

No. All our sweets are vegetarian and contain no animal derivatives, ghee or lard.

Do you ship?

As our products are perishable, all food sales are final. There is no policy of refunds or replacements. 

Yes, we ship to all states in the US except Hawaii and California and provide a tracking number directly after mailing the package. Customers pay for shipping. Please note that we pack all items in USPS Priority mail padded envelopes or boxes, depending on the volume ordered. We ensure that all our boxes are wrapped in cling-wrap to avoid opening on impact. We are not responsible for the condition of the package on arrival in the event of USPS delays, weather conditions or mis-handling. Juicy sweets such as rasagullas may leak as a result of the shipper's handling and we cannot be held responsible for that. In the event of any shipping problems, we encourage customers to file direct claims through the USPS website. 

Mithai Indian Cafe is not responsible for damage or loss as a result of shipments being returned to the freight location or being un-deliverable as a result of incorrect address information you supply to us, or for inability of a recipient to receive the package on the day you specify that it should be delivered. 



We wish we could assure proper handling and prompt receipt of packages once they have been delivered to the correct mailing address by the third party carrier but this, of course, is out of our control. To enjoy the full flavor and freshness of our products, we urge you to make the necessary arrangements beforehand. If your package is returned to us because of an incorrect address provided by you, because of its perishability, we must dispose of the contents and you will not be refunded.

Refunds for any unavailable items at the time of your order can only be credited to the originating credit card. 

How much does shipping cost?

Depends on the weight of your order and the flat rate Priority Mail packages for your zip code. You may choose to pay more for overnight or next day shipping. We use 2 day USPS Priority Mail ground shipping or overnight shipping which will cost considerably more. For urgent orders, please call on 9199488475 to discuss faster mailing options such as USPS Priority Express. Due to not using preservatives, we only ship on the first three days of the week to avoid delays in transit close to the weekend.

Can you substitute dairy for vegan milk for drinks in the cafe?

Yes, we always have vegan milk for anyone who is lactose intolerant or follows a vegan diet. This is an option for all hot and cold beverages in-store but not for confectionary. 

How can I pay if I place an order over the phone?

We have a secure manual transaction method where you can give us your card number after which your receipt can be sent to you via email directly from our merchant system or by sms if you prefer.

Do you deliver?

We charge a delivery fee. However, for large orders it depends on the size of the order and distance travelled.

What kind of Milk do you use?

We have been using farm Fresh Milk from Homeland Creamery and all milk sweets, paneer, tea, coffee, milkshakes and other hot chocolate drinks are all made with this milk. We do not use commercial store bought milk, quick dried powder milk, evaporated milk or milk derivatives. 

What brand of coffee do you serve?

Catering Cancellations

All catering orders are customized to order and will result in full wastage if cancelled. Cancellations within 72 hours, there will incur a 40% charge. Cancellations within 48 hours of delivery, will incur a 60% charge. A cancellation within 24 hours of delivery will incur a 100% charge.
