OUR CUSTOMERS DESERVE TRANSPARENCY
WE ARE NOT ABOUT FOOD SCIENCE, CHEMISTRY AND HALF TRUTHS....
Food isn’t food anymore -- that is why we want to tell you about the frightening world of fillers --
Our mission is simple, if it's not natural, it's not on the ingredients list.
Food fillers are additives that help bulk up the weight of a food with less expensive ingredients, which helps keep the price down.
We stand by quality and purity and wanted to point out what adulteration looks like -- as you know, adulteration is the mixing, addition and substitution of ingredients to cut costs and add volume. Indian sweets are famous for being adulterated and more so during times of high demand such as festivals.
Consumers should be aware that this is not just in India but in the local market too. The picture above, is an example of what pista or pistachio burfi looks like with and without the addition of artificial colors, additives and emulsifiers.
So, the next time you think of satisfying your sweet tooth, give some thought to how your food is made, where it comes from and what goes into it!
There is no food fraud at Mithai!
